Have you entered our Blog giveaway!!!??? The giveaway closes on Aug 1st!
Hi Monday! I hope you all had a great weekend!
Today I have another attempt at some nail art. I’ve wanted to do a nautical themed mani for some time now. I’m not sure why but I’ve really wanted to. A few weeks back I ordered some striping tape off of Amazon and it finally came in! This was my first time using it; I think that I will use it again and I hope next time be a little more successful.
Nautical Nail Art:
What I used – Zoya Sooki (3 coats), Misa Heaven White (1 coat), Essie Midnight Cami (2 coats), striping tape and cuticle nippers to cut tape
Final Result:
So here it is. It’s not the worst thing I have ever seen but I have some learnings for the next time. I did not put the tape straight nor did I press the tape down all the way so the white lines on the nail do not go from end to end. I also painted all my nails but I think in future I will finish the accent nail before I move on to the other fingers since I kept those pretty simple.
What do you think? Have you ever experiment with striping tape before? Or other kinds of nail art?

Oh, and I keep a nice supply of toothpicks around- they’re sooo handy, especially for tamping down nail tape. If it’s being particularly rebellious, sometimes I’ll hold it down while I paint over it, but that’s usually only if the tape is cheap
