I hope you are having a good weekend so far.  Today I wanted to share a haul that I did last weekend.  One of the more popular drugstores in Canada is called Shoppers Drug Mart.  They have a points program called Shoppers Optimum where you get points for every purchase you make, outside of drug and lottery purchases.  It is a tier reward system as well so the more points you have the more points you can redeem.  For example if you have 8,000 points you can redeem $10 off your purchase (800 points = $1) however if you have 95,000 points you can redeem $170 off your purchase (589 points = $1).

Where am I going with this you ask?  Through talking with a reader Joanna, I was told that there was a store called Murale that was linked with Shoppers Drug Mart.  However this store features more high end brands that you can’t typically find in a Shoppers.  In the past 10 years (or so) Shoppers has added and developed their Beauty Boutique sections a little more carrying brands like Dior, benefit, Shisiedo etc.  But even still I have never seen any Shoppers carry Deborah Lippmann, NARS, Chanel or YSL which I found at Murale.  Now the great thing about this is that you can earn Shoppers Optimum points while shopping there but the BEST thing about it is you can redeem points there as well!

So this is what I got for only $36 after tax when I redeemed 95,000 points for $170 worth of product:

2 Bioderma Gift Sets, Clinque Almost Lipstick in Black Honey, Chanel Paradoxal, Deborah Lippmann Billionaire and benefit brow zings in medium

The downside is that from what I can see you are unable to redeem points when you buy online and there are only half a dozen stores located all across Canada.

Also just another FYI you can combine points with your friends to maximize your redeeming power.  I was at 88,000 points but my husband had a handful so we went online and he was able to transfer some to me to get me up to 95,000 instantly and without any trouble.

When was the last time you made a big purchase of makeup?
