OPI – Anti-Bleak

Hi there! Today I have another nail polish from the Mariah Carey Collection.  This one is called Anti-Bleak.  This collection contained 4 “studio” shades and 4 “stage” shades.  All of the Liquid Sands are considered “stage” shades so today I’m showing you one of the “studio” shades.

3 coats of OPI Anti-Bleak topped with Cult Nails Wicked Fast:

OPI - Anti-Bleak

Anti-Bleak is a reddish-purple creme nail polish.  While I don’t think I have anything in my collection like it to be honest it’s not really an original colour in my opinion.  I think I remember one of the China Glaze colours from this past year’s holiday collection was similar to this.  That being said it’s a nice colour even though there is a little bit of staining when I was trying to clean up.

What do you think? After the glitters, holos and textured polishes, do you crave for a simple creme nail polish?

OPI – Can’t Let Go

Today I have another one of the OPI Liquid Sands from the Mariah Carey Collection.  This one is called Can’t Let Go.

2 coats of OPI Can’t Let Go:OPI - Can't Let Go OPI - Can't Let Go OPI - Can't Let Go

Can’t Let Go is a purple nail polish that has a Liquid Sand finish to it.  This was another nail polish that was very easy to remove just like Get Your Number.  I think that of all of the nail polishes in this collection this one is my favourite.  While I still have to get use to the texture I feel that I like this colour the most and could easily use this as an accent nail with a pretty big impact.

What do you think? Are we sold on textured nail polish yet?

OPI – Get Your Number

Happy Monday!  Today I have for you a nail polish from the recently released Mariah Carey Collection, Get Your Number.  This collection had 8 colours released in total four of which are Liquid Sands.  Get Your Number was one of the 4 Liquid Sands that were released.  Liquid Sands are a specialty type nail polish which when dried has a sandy/grainy type finish.  Let’s take a look at the nail polish.

3 coasts of OPI Get Your Number:

OPI Get Your Number OPI Get Your Number

Get Your Number is a nail polish with blue and holographic pieces of glitter.  One thing that I have to give this nail polish was even though it was “glitter” it was very easy to remove.  That was one of the things I really like about it.  I thought the colour was nice but it was not that original.   What was different was the texture that this nail polish has when it dries.

Overall I don’t actually know how I feel about the Liquid Sands.  I really prefer my nail polish glossy and smooth and this look is very opposite of this concept.  That being said it did dry pretty fast and removal was a breeze so if I was looking for a glitter-type look without the painful removal I think that this would be a good idea.

What do you think?  Are you into the Liquid Sand nail polishes from OPI?

OPI – The Man With The Golden Gun

Happy New Year!!! Long time no see! I’m very sorry that I have been neglecting the blog lately.  December was just insane because of the move and the holidays.  But I’m back to the regular scheduled posting now.

Today I have a review for you of OPI The Man With The Golden Gun.  OPI released this nail polish with the James Bond Collection and it retails for $37.50 CDN.   I was very excited about getting one of the gold top coats that many of the major nail polish companies have been putting out lately.  And even though the OPI version is on the top end of the price range it is the one that is most accessible to me so I picked it up.  Let’s take a look at it.

2 coats of OPI The Man With The Golden Gun over OPI Live and Let Die:

OPI Man With the Golden Gun OPI Man With the Golden Gun

I really like the look of these together.  I think that the gold top coat adds brings out the gold shimmer in the nail polish.  This could be reapplied to any nail polish that has a hint of gold shimmer within it.  I also think I would only put 1 coat for conserving the nail polish as well as I think 2 coats was a bit much.  I could have gone with an accent nail or even just one layer for each nails and I think that would have done the trick.

Overall I thought that this was a nice polish but something I would use sparingly in the future.

What do you think? Did you pick up any of the gold flake top coats that came out this year?

Question of the Week – Your Makeup Collection

Tags

, , ,

Hi there! Back with a question of the week!  This time it is about your makeup collection, what is the brand that you use the most of?

Do you tend to have a lot of the same brand or change it up based on budget and quality of product? Do you pick up products that work regardless of the brand or could your makeup collection double for a one make up counter?

QOTW

Personally my makeup collection covers off a lot of different brands.  I base my purchases on the product and not the brand itself.  However for the items I use on a pretty regular basis the most common brand I have in my collection is Make Up Forever.

What about you?

Clinique – Airbrush Concealer

Hi everyone! Sorry for the long absence.  Finally getting back into the swing of things.  I’m mostly unpacked and now back to work.

Today I have a review of Clinque Airbrush Concealer.  I discovered this concealer when I was watching a couple of Lisa Eldridge‘s videos.  Let’s take a look at it shall we.

Clinique - Airbrush Concealer Clinique - Airbrush Concealer Clinique - Airbrush Concealer

I’m a big fan of this product.  It really does brighten up my under-eye circles with are genetic and have nothing to do with how much sleep I get.  I also love the applicator.  I just click up once and apply the product under my eye.  Sometimes if I don’t need a whole lot of coverage I can use one click for both eyes.  There is also a lot of product in the tube as well; I have used mine 6-7 times a week since August 2012 and I still have product left.  I find you only need a little bit to make a difference.

I only use this under my eyes and around my nose if it looks a little dark.  This is not really a good concealer to use for blemishes as it is too sheer coverage-wise.

When I went to Las Vegas in August I picked some up since I could not find it in Canada however since then I have seen it in Sephora in Canada.  I’m a big fan of this and will re-purchase.

What do you think? Do you use a different concealer for your under eyes and blemishes?
